People visit wine country from around the World for—well, of course, the wine—but also the views, the access to Nature, the incredible hospitality and dining options, the freshest food they have ever seen, and the enviable indoor-outdoor lifestyle California has become famous for. There are many beautiful homes in wine country, however, perhaps none of them so fully capture all of these aspects in such an attractive way.
The entirety of the ground level of this home opens up to the breathtaking and sprawling backyard. The backyard--which houses the 1BR/1BA guest house, salt filtered pool, cabana/poolhouse, custom built outdoor rammed earth kitchen/bbq, ClearLight outdoor infrared cedar sauna, regulation size bocce court, abundant ornamental landscaping (focusing on Native and perennial species that are beneficial to the local insects), and bustling organic fruit and vegetable gardens—is considered by the current owners to be their favorite “room” in the house. The garden was designed to be its own highly enjoyable and immersive experience with multiple different zones or “outdoor rooms” for you to enjoy throughout the changing seasons. The food that comes from these gardens will be the freshest you have ever enjoyed. Herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and other synthetic chemicals have never been used on these gardens—only organic practices. This is also true for the private Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard which sits on the far side of the garden. Local legendary winemaker Tony Coturri, famous for his natural practices, is our current partner on these grapes, and he is blown away at the quality.
After all this, the house itself is really the cherry on top, however, it is equally as impressive in its own right. The main residence features a total of 7,342 +/- sq ft of conditioned space, brushed white oak floors, rustic plank wall detail, integrated “smart house” features such as music room-by-room, electronic curtains, lights, and HVAC all controlled on your phone or on the in-wall console (Control4 system), heated floors, walk-in wine cellar, and multiple options for both indoor and outdoor group dining (along with a butler’s pass associated with the main dining room). Fire features can be enjoyed both indoors as well as outdoors making this a truly enjoyable home in every season.
Whether it is pool side, enjoying berries from the garden, or fireside, staying cozy with a cup of warm tea—one thing is certain—the majestic mountains that bookend your viewshed in either direction will instantly come to feel like home the second you set your eyes on them.
