    Property Description:

Perched at over 1,700 feet above the Napa Valley floor, the Hendrickson Family Ranch Vineyard shares the same rarefied air and prized terroir as its illustrious neighbor, Stagecoach Vineyard—home to some of Napa’s most celebrated wines. Nestled high above the fog line on the picturesque Foss Valley plateau, this exceptional 18.8 +/- acre Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard basks in abundant sunlight and thrives in the rugged, volcanic soils of the Vaca Mountains. These unique conditions impart bold tannins and intricate flavors, hallmarks of the prestigious Atlas Peak AVA. Originally planted in 1998 and expanded in 2019, the vineyard overlays the estate’s 47.37 +/- acre property, yielding highly sought-after Cabernet grapes renowned for their depth and complexity. With an additional 7.2 +/- acres not yet cleared but approved by Napa County for planting, the full vineyard potential totals 26 +/- acres. Recent accolades reflect the high quality of the site.

En Garde 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Atlas Peak) Hendrickson Family
    Vineyards Scores 95 Points

"Super-ripe, big, thick, aromatic and juicy, a major league Cabernet that shows its Atlas Peak origins with flamboyant mountain concentration. The immediate mouthfeel is of gigantic fruit. Black currants, cassis, cherry kirsch, dark bitter chocolate and teriyaki beef spiciness, accented with lots of smoky new oak, provide for lushness of the style we've come to expect from En Garde. For all the sumptuous fruitiness, there's a great burst of acidity that keeps things bright. This is a "Wow!" wine for drinking now and over the next decade." ~ Steve Heimoff, former West Coast Editor, Wine Enthusiast magazine

North Bay Business Journal’s Napa Valley Winemaker of the Year 2018, Linda Trotta of Jamieson Ranch Vineyards writes of Marilyn Hendrickson in Napa Valley Life, Winter issue 2019

“Marilyn is very connected to her land, and she’s proud of that land and her family’s heritage. Her passion spoke to me. And the wine made from her grapes is delicious. Whenever I bring distributor reps and salespeople to the winery, I always end their visit with a tasting of Marilyn’s Atlas Peak Cab. It literally raises eyebrows; it’s memorable.”
